Ferris wheel – the most famous attraction in Moscow and soon it will not be. I believe that every city should have its own Ferris wheel.
The diameter of the wheel is 70 meters, height — 73 meters. The Ferris wheel was built in 1995 for the 850 anniversary of Moscow and became the highest attraction in Moscow and Eastern Europe. It has 40 passenger cabins, 12 of which are open. Each cabin can accommodate up to 8 passengers, and one turn of the wheel lasts 7 minutes.
During the construction of the wheel, it was the tallest in Europe, but later it surpassed the 90-meter attraction Eurowheel built in the Park of Mirabilandia in the UK, which is located in Ravenna in Italy, and 135-meter London eye in London, open to the public in 2000. The previous record among the Ferris wheels was: 94-metre Great wheel (English). in London, built in 1895 and demolished in 1907, and 100-metre Grande Roue de Paris in Paris, built for the world exhibition of 1900 in Paris and demolished in 1920.
This wheel is no longer the highest in Russia. The tallest Ferris wheel in Russia in the village of Lazarevskoye (the resort district of Sochi), the height of 80 m, open June 30, 2012. In 2004, plans to build a 170-metre wheel Rus-3000, but the project was cancelled. In 2009, the option was considered of building the wheel 180 meters in the Park of Culture, and in 2008-m — 150-foot wheel near Sparrow hills. Continue reading
Outdated amusement parks dazzle with their beauty. In these desert areas, filled with mysticism and mystery, once rested adults and heard the laughter of children.
Amusement parks in the twentieth century has been a favorite place for a nice family vacation. However, as time goes on, in place of these parks came in other bright, technologically advanced, with new idols for children. “The old guard” was simply not able to compete with them. Many buildings were closed and demolished to make way for shopping centers, while others were abandoned because of debts. However, those that were left, that recall the days when there was fun for adults and children.
Ruined and abandoned parks are filled with special energy, they could be a great place for filming some Thriller. Walking on those mysterious places, I want to look into every corner, sit on each attraction, because here was once full whole life.
1. Six Flags, New Orleans, USA
Amusement Park Six Flags (Six Flags), located in New Orleans, was deserted in 2005 due to the infamous hurricane Katrina almost completely destroyed this city.
2. Since then, little has changed and the Park is still closed, despite attempts by its owners to bring their creation to life. Continue reading
Advantages: the Diversity, the beautiful Park
Disadvantages: the Queue ends quickly day
To this Park I was in Tivoli (Copenhagen, Denmark) during the Christmas fair. In December it is cold – not to drive, and here I was at the opening of the summer season, during Easter in April.
To get to the Park you need to pay an entrance fee of 100 SEK. Or free with card from city card. To ride possible to buy additional tickets for any rides or buy a wristband Annual Pass (225 CZK) which enables the whole day to ride any attraction that I did. The price for each depends on the number of coupons – 1 to 4. Baby for example 1 coupon, and the adrenaline 3-4 coupon. So how was the opening attraction was a queue and sometimes not be seen for what you are. I tried to go everywhere, since you had the chance. Often had to remove their shoes in order not to lose it. Around the Park, beautiful flower beds, waterfalls. There are hand prints of famous people. Even has its own walk of fame with stars.
First tried the SCREAMIN’ SWING. Such huge swings, that starts to swing harder and higher, as much spirit catches.
Roller coaster BALDER, one of the biggest wood in the world. A maximum speed of 90 km/h, are connected to 70 degrees. But I was not particularly impressed.
The Park has several varieties of slides. Classic Ferris wheel FERRIS WHEEL. View from the top, but few thrills. Continue reading
